Shine His Light in Our Darkness
June 14, 2022 | Mitchell Mace
Is there an area of darkness that is crying out for Jesus?
What an in-depth question for any of us to ponder upon. Now how many of us have actually started looking at ourselves to discover what areas there may be in our own lives?
Perhaps we don’t want to look at ourselves, or perhaps we do not know where to start, or at what to look. If you want a good guide, just go back to Psalm 91. The list contains eight items we receive as a benefit of being with our Lord God. Or, in other terms, resting with Him, following His ways, trusting Him and His protection.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’” (Psalms 91:1-2)
… who lives with the Lord … my refuge and my fortress …
Trust in Him and He will grant us shelter, He will grant us the wisdom we need in life. And He will grace us all with Rest, Protection, Absence of Fear, Power, Answered Prayers, Honor, Satisfaction & Salvation. Now you can look at where your life is missing any of these blessings from the Most High.
Are you uneasy in situations? Are you feeling afraid of anything? Do you feel like you are weak, especially against the wiles of the devil? Where is your life lacking? Where does it appear to be missing something?
Once you identify this, you have taken the first step. From here, you can now start inviting the Lord God into your life to correct those areas. And then the next area. And the next. We will never be done correcting ourselves to conform to the ways of our Lord God. Or, more accurately, we will never be done allowing the Lord God to work within us, about us, and through us. We will never be done allowing the Lord God to change what needs to be changed, to be adjusted, in order to live our lives according to His will, His way.
For myself, I feel that the Lord God has greatly Honored me ever since “finding Him” on Feb 10, 2020. He has opened my ears to His whispers, opened my eyes to His words, and opened my gifts to the benefit of the world … all for His glory. The writing He blessed me with now honors and glorifies Him by spreading praises of Him.
Take a breath. Relax. Trust Him for your protection as you live in the shadow of His mighty wings of refuge. Ask Him to help you see what areas of your life need attention. The darkness within you needing Jesus? Ask Him, and He will show you.
