India Mission Trip | Update 6

March 23, 2026 | Chris Brall

Happy Eid-ul-Fitr from Delhi! Today is a special Muslim holiday, and the city feels different—quieter, calmer, and less congested than usual.

This morning at breakfast, our team had the opportunity to pray together and share life stories. Moments like these are drawing us closer, making us feel more like a family—unified in a way that reflects the beauty of Indian culture.

We then traveled to Hapur in Uttar Pradesh to visit the Bethesda schools. Because of the holiday, traffic was noticeably lighter—a welcome change from the usual mix of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, and even animals that fill the roads.

The drive still took about an hour and a half, and along the way we saw massive residential buildings housing large populations, alongside agricultural areas and brick-making sites that supply Delhi.

Our first stop was a large and beautiful Bethesda school. We were warmly welcomed with honor and respect by the principal, pastoral leaders, and teachers. This school serves around 1,500 students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with a dedicated staff of about 65 teachers.

We had the chance to connect with the staff, ask questions, shake hands, and take photos. The visit also included a special performance—a dance presented by three teachers—which was a joyful highlight.

Next, we walked to their second Bethesda building, completed a couple years ago—it’s a two-story building serving over 400 students. This building was generously donated by Vineyard and is known as the Vineyard Block. Praise God for this incredible provision—though there is still more work ahead.

We then traveled a few miles to another Bethesda school—the original one. What began as just two rooms has grown into a 21-room facility serving around 500 students. They recently added a new toilet block for the children, which is a meaningful and important improvement.

Through all of this, God is expanding our hearts for India and for the people we meet each day. I am deeply grateful to the leadership team at Vineyard for saying yes to India and to Pastor Abraham. Because of your yes, we are richly blessed!
