India Mission Trip | Update 4
March 21, 2026 | Connie Briggs
We spent a second day at Bethesda School, and it was truly unforgettable.
Pastor Buju Kurian’s sweet family prepared an amazing, authentic Indian meal for us. We felt so honored to sit at their table and share in their hospitality—it was such a special experience.
Pastor Mark taught at the pastors’ conference, where about 200 pastors were in attendance, and Chris also shared. What stood out to me most was the incredible sacrifice these men have made to become pastors in India. Their joy was contagious—they were so excited to say hello to Ranjit and Pastor Abraham and so eager to serve Jesus.
Before spending time with the children, we had the privilege of leading devotions with the teachers, which was such a meaningful way to start the day.
Then we joined the kids for worship. We sang songs together and taught them “Father Abraham” and “I’m in the Lord’s Army.” The children were absolutely amazing! Not only did they learn the songs in English (which is not their first language), but they sang them back to us all on their own. One little girl even performed the entire song solo—in English!
We also played hot potato and took pictures outside, just enjoying being together. These children are such a blessing, and this school plays such an important role in their lives. In a region where over 80% of the population is Hindu, this school may be the only place where they will hear about Jesus.
We’re ending the day on a plane back to Delhi—exhausted, a little hot and sweaty, but with very full hearts.
