Calling on God

Recently, I was receiving phone calls from a cruise advisor thinking my number was my fathers. I was getting calls daily telling me about special offers and giving me details about “my recent cruise”. I finally got to the point where I no longer cared to get the calls, so I called the number back to try to get my father's phone number on file instead of mine. I called the number that had been calling me, and I told whoever was on the other end about my situation. She said that was something for a different department and transferred me. I told the next person my situation, and she transferred me to someone else. Finally, four transfers later, and I reached someone who said, "sorry, we can't do anything about that" and hung up.
I finally blocked the number and told my dad about the situation, but it turned out he was getting the calls, too, so I am not quite sure why I was also getting them. Anyway, that experience made me appreciate how easy it is to talk to God. It took four people for me to talk to another human, but all I need to do to talk to the creator of the universe is just talked to Him. Isn't that awesome? Our God is alive, and He is so easy to get ahold of. There's no being put on hold, or transferred, or hung up on when praying or talking to the Lord. Psalm 17:6: says, "I call on you, my God, for you will answer me". All we have to do is call on God and He will answer us! It's that simple!
Not only does God hear us when we speak to Him, but He also responds. Job 22:27 states, "You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows”. How many times have you talked to someone who you thought was listening, and then you got to the end of the conversation and the person says, “huh? Sorry, I wasn’t listening?”. I know I have had that several times in my life, but never with God. God knows what I am going to say before I even do, and even then, He listens.
Some people are hard to get a hold of, but the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is not. He is ALWAYS with us and is always ready to listen. All we have to do is call on Him.
