2026 Honduras Mission Trip Day 3

July 18, 2026

 By Kevin & Myrika Coblentz

Day three was a success!  We started our day at 8 am with breakfast followed by a devotional by Vicki. She talked about Galatians 5:13 and serving others.  Galatians 6:9 Joshua 1:9 and 1 Corinthians 15:58. Then we headed to another food distribution at Ministerio Internacional Casa De Gozo, and home visit. We did the puppet show and dance off.  Melody shared her testimony.

There were many children at this church. It was a joy to bless them with candy and toys. We prayed for the congregation before we went on the home visit. We went to Jonah and Gladys house. It was a tiny home a long the side of the highway.  This was impactful to the entire team. It was the worst home we have visited this trip. The conditions were bad, a dirt floor and one room. The son Jonah works a full time job and his mom has a roadside stand.  They are trying so hard to find a way to get a permanent home. We prayed for their business  and home to be blessed. And for a new home that is safe for them.  It is had to see this level of poverty and not feel compassion for them. They are basically squatters along the roadside.

After this we returned to Pastor Nelson’s village and continued with house painting and foundation work.  Most of the painting was finished today and the foundation was finished. We were all blessed  by conversations and interactions with the villagers and pastors. Kevin was able to have a conversation with Jorge about how proud he is to be building his permanent home for his wife and children. He expressed that it is not his strength or our team’s strength to build this, but it is God that is doing it. Myrika and Kevin had a great conversation with Pastor Minda about us being in the right place and our hearts being put to use where God wants us. She told Myrika that one of the people on a home visit that she could feel the Holy Spirit coming from Myrika. These conversations encouraged both of us. Others on our team have been have great interactions with the children and others from the village.  We are all being enriched and filled with the Spirit.  We can feel him working through our team.

Our team is experiencing great joy and being filled with the Holy Spirit.  We closed our day with another great dinner and debrief.  It is wonderful to hear each other’s daily experiences. We are all growing in Christ together. We also celebrated Derek’s birthday tonight !!! He spent his 21st birthday serving Christ. A great way to celebrate.
