2025 Honduras Mission Trip Day 7

July 22, 2025 | Lee Stanton

Our final day in Honduras was set aside as a time for the team to rest and decompress before beginning the journey home. We started the morning together with breakfast, followed by devotionals and worship led by Abi.

Although the fatigue from a full and impactful week had begun to set in, there was a noticeable sense of spiritual fulfillment among the group. It was clear that each person had been touched by what God had revealed to them throughout our time in Honduras.

After breakfast, we loaded up the bus and headed to Pulhapanzak for some well-deserved fun, including ziplining and a breathtaking waterfall tour. It was a refreshing way to unwind after a week of service and ministry.

We also had the joy of celebrating Annemieke's birthday during this time. Minda and Silvia, the pastors' wives, surprised her with a birthday cake, and in true Honduran fashion, Minda made sure Annemieke received the full celebration—complete with a handful of icing to the face !

We ended the day with a final dinner surrounded by everyone who had become so special to us—both pastors and their families, our translators, and even a few familiar faces from previous years who stopped by to celebrate with us. It was a night filled with gratitude, laughter, and heartfelt connection.

As a team, we had the privilege of presenting Pastor Arqui with a gift to support their ministry—an offering we pray will help further the Kingdom and continue the incredible work being done in their community.

What a blessing this week has been—and what an incredible team to serve alongside. There’s no doubt in my mind that this team was no accident, God had a purpose in bringing us together.

This week was filled with laughter, tears, spiritual growth, countless hugs, and unforgettable memories.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned through mission trips is that while we often come expecting to be a blessing to others, the truth is—when we step out in faith and serve the way Jesus calls us to—God blesses us.

One more thing, let us pray for our Honduran brothers and sisters, let God bless them and protect them.  Let us bring back the love to our families and friends the way they love us and let us worship and praise God with the same passion they have.
