2025 Honduras Mission Trip Day 4

July 19, 2025 | Kevin & Annemieke Kosten

We can't believe it is already day 4 of our mission trip! Today was another great day serving the people of Honduras. We started our day with devotions from Lee and worship led by Abi. Josh also took the opportunity to once again remided us of the work and power of the Holy Spirit and encouraged us to lean into whatever it is that the Holy Spirit wants to say to us this week.

Our team returned to Pastor Arqui's church this morning to get the newly constructed stand alone kitchen/restaurant ready for its dedication this Sunday. The team came together like a well oiled machine and we are pleased with the painting transformation. We also made progress on masonry work to the outside of the kitchen structure. Some of the locals worked along side our team which created an opportunity for good conversation and connection. As we were about to leave the site for the day one of the locals working beside us made a point to say that we are a blessing.

The church is blessed to have quite a bit of property. On that property they have palm trees which allow them to harvest palm nuts several times a year as a revenue source for the church. They also have cacao trees. We had the opportunity to eat fresh cacao from threir trees. We loved it, but not everyone on the team was as excited about it as we were.

Dinner looked a little different tonight since we had a much larger group gather together. Pastor Arqui's family, Pastor Nelson's family and some others who have relationships through World Compassion Network joined us for good food and fellowship.

This is the first time either of us have been on a mission trip. We are so thankful that we made the decision to do this together (even though Annemieke was a little resistant). We are truly amazed at the welcoming nature of the Hondurans and their generosity. Many of the people we have encountered have so many physical needs, but don't ask for help with those things. Rather, they are seeking God and trusting that He will take care of their needs. We have been humbled by their example.
